Martha Stewart was in the Detroit area last week to announce a move in her daily syndicated show, "The Martha Stewart Show." After 12 years on WXYZ-TV (Channel 7) her show will be moving to WJBK-TV (Channel 2) in the Fall. On a personal note, this is quite a surprise. WXYZ has always won the time slot ratings from 10-11 a.m. with the Martha show. The Detroit market has always held one of the highest rating averages for the Martha Stewart Show as well as the previous Martha Stewart Living show.
While in town, Martha visited the Edsel and Eleanor Ford mansion in Grosse Point Shores. She toured the mansion, the elaborate gardens as well as the 'play house' on the grounds. Martha was said to be interested in the Detroit mansion since her home in Maine, "Skylands" was once the summer home of Edsel and Eleanor.
