Beekman 1802

There is a special place in the Hudson Valley in New York: Beekman 1802 Farm. This is the home to Dr. Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell.

Proclaimed as a "shared experiment in seasonal living" Dr. Brent and Josh have developed a place on earth that is in my opinion, close to being paradise (you may not agree if you believe sandy beaches and palm trees are paradise!).

Their website, Beekman 1802 makes you part of their home and farm. It's a delightful place to visit when you wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of your daily life. It's part inspiration, part journal, and part field trip to participate (if only through the web) in their shared experiment. It's a relaxing journey into their gardens, their home and their lives. It's a comfortable place that I've grown to enjoy. I hope you will too.

You know, I wasn't sure I liked Dr. Brent - his personality is a little offputting for me, but then I saw the Martha Show where he was making the soap and they showed pictures of his farm and I totally changed my mind about him because I saw a different side of him. It goes to show you that you really can't tell about a person from a couple of appearances on a show. He's doing some wonderful things at his farm. Thanks for putting the link to it - I made a note to myself to go online and check it out, but didn't get around to it.

I visited this site briefly and loved it! Thanks for sharing. I need to go back and delve into it further - truly inspirational!

Hi Elaine and Mike,
I hope you'll spend some time at the Beekman website. It really is enjoyable and it's put together so nicely! It's a great place to relax, learn and enjoy. It's a daily stop for me. So many blogs, so little time!
